Norwin A. Lesser

Age 87, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Chelsea surrounded by his family. He was born August 1, 1927 in Dexter Township, Michigan, the son of Ezra and Edna (Mast) Lesser.

Norwin graduated from Dexter High School in 1945. He was a farmer all of his life.  Norwin attended Faith Lutheran Church.  He was a former member of St. Andrew's United Church of Christ in Dexter, and Salem Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor.

Gene "Ron" Borders

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 76, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home. He was born May 23, 1939 in Ashland, KY , the son of Eltia & Anna (Roark) Borders Sr.

Ron was a member of the Chelsea High School class of 1958.  He worked at Chelsea Milling for 42 years.  Ron liked woodworking, was an avid gun collector and shot on a pistol team.  He was a member of the Chelsea Rod and Gun Club.

Gwendolyn May Castro

of Ann Arbor, MI formerly of Wild Goose Lake, age 91, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Glacier Hills of Ann Arbor. She was born December 24, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence and Leona (Norris) Grayer. On April 7, 1942, she  married Coleman Martin Castro, Sr in Detroit, MI and he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2007.

Susan "Jean" Couchman

Of Grass Lake, Michigan, age 75, died peacefully Sunday, July 5, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 11, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Gerald & Blanche (Julien) Garrow.

Susan attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.  She was a member of the Chelsea Senior Center.  Susan was a special needs bus driver for Dexter Community Schools for 30 years.  She was very active, and enjoyed camping, listening to music, and playing cards.  Susan liked to travel and spend winters in Florida with family and friends.  She enjoyed going to Native American pow-wows.

John Gottfried Skittenhelm

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 85, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home with his family at his side. He was born January 30, 1930 in Grass Lake, Michigan, the son of Walter J. & Norma Mary (Sluyter) Schittenhelm.
  John was a heavy equipment operator at Chrysler Proving Grounds, and was a member of UAW Local 1284.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany.   John loved to hunt and fish, and he especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
