Carolyn Elizabeth Strieter
of Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 86, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Jackson, Michigan, surrounded by her family and pastor. She was born March 11, 1931 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Harold and Milda (Nicolai) Whipple.
Carolyn graduated from Ann Arbor High School. She was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor for 60+ years. Carolyn was a florist all of her life. She worked at Chelsea Flower Shop in Ann Arbor and Farmer Grants, and later owned Garnetts Flower Shop in Chelsea with her sister Shirley. She was a member of Washtenaw County Farm Bureau. Carolyn liked to put together puzzles, crafts, arts, decorating, and thoroughly enjoyed photography. In retirement she enjoyed walking around downtown Ann Arbor and spending time with her family.
of Pinckney, MI, originally from Ann Arbor, formerly of Las Vegas, NV and Santa Monica, CA, age 61, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his home. He was born May 22, 1956 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Frederick A. & Winifred E. (Gasser) Zemke. Tom graduated from Pioneer High School in 1974, and attended Lawrence Institute of Technology and Central Michigan University, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering. He worked for Dapco Industries in Dexter, and later worked for U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. Tom lived out west for a few years to pursue his dreams, and enjoyment of singing, dancing, and music. He appeared on "America's Got Talent" twice.
of Chelsea, Michigan, age 95, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 24, 1922, in Salyersville, Kentucky, the son of Rollie and Addie (Cooper) Collinsworth. He was one of 12 children. He worked on the family farm before joining the Army to serve in WWII in December of 1942. In WWII, he served overseas with the 729 Military Police Battalion. In September of 1949, he moved to Chelsea, Michigan. He retired from Rockwell after more than 30 years in 1983. For decades, he marched in the Chelsea Memorial Day Parade and the Fair Parade and was a Life Member of the VFW Post 4076. Dooley loved to laugh and tell stories of his life’s adventures. He had a smile for everybody. He loved watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. 
Age 85, of Dexter Mi., formerly of Ann Arbor, died Friday, December 1st, 2017 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Chelsea. She was born September 9th, 1932 in Southfield Township, the daughter of Matthew Lynn and Esther Lavena (Willis) Everett. On May 29th, 1950 she married Neil Raymond Stoll and he preceded her in death on September 8th, 2011. Barbara and Neil were well known and respected breeders and exhibitors of West Highland White Terriers under their Glenbrier Kennel prefix. Barbara was recognized for her commitment to breeding healthy dogs and was known for her efforts in identifying and assisting with the research of various genetic disorders found in the Westie breed. Barbara was as fiercely independent as the terriers she loved and continued to live independently in her own home until the day of her death.
