Obituaries

of Chelsea, MI, age 97, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born June 16, 1917 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph & Bertha (Bragonier) Voigt. Florence attended Christian College in Columbia, MO and Eden Seminary in Webster Groves, MO.  She worked at churches in Monroe, WI and Ann Arbor, MI (Bethlehem Church).  She served with her husband, Alton, in Prescott, AZ,  Andover IA, Tripoli, IA, and Burlington IA, before retiring in Chelsea.

On June 26, 1955, she married Alton C. Koengeter in Fort Madison, IA and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2002. Survivors include three cousins Carol Anderson of Prescott, AZ, D.J. Bragonier and Shirley Colledge of Altoona, PA; many great-nephews and great-nieces; and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law and his wife, Wilbert and Elsie Koengeter; a sister-in-law and her husband, Edna and Edwin Haab; a nephew, Loren Koengeter; and two nieces Dorene Sullivan and Grace Baker.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, 1:30 p.m.  at Chelsea Retirement Community Towsley Village Chapel, with Pastor Kathy Tulman officiating.  Burial followed at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chelsea. The family received friends at the Towsley Village Chapel from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.   Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
