Obituaries

of Jackson, MI, age 87, died peacefully Monday, June 15, 2015 at Bethany Care Home in Jackson, Michigan. He was born June 20, 1927 in Buffalo, New York, the son of Valentin & Wladjslawa Rogacki.  Walter was a member of the Catholic Church. He served in the South Pacific in the United States Navy during WWII.  He also served in the Korean Conflict. Walter was a former member of the DePew VFW Post.  He was a laborer in the steel industry.  Walter's biggest hobby was art, he continued to sketch and paint throughout his whole life.  

On October, 27 1956, he married Wanda Wierzbic and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2005. Survivors include a son, Steven (Mary) Rogacki of Chelsea; a daughter, Susan Rogacki of Buffalo, NY; a grandson, Adam (Haley) Rogacki; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy; and two brothers, Edward and Al, and a cousin, Peter Imbicrowski.

 A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 19, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, Michigan with Rev. Dr. William Turner officiating. The family will receive friends Friday 10-11 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be Monday, June 22 at St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Lancaster, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Bethany Care Home and Hospice. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
