Lloyd Alan Herrst

of Ann Arbor, MI, formerly of Dexter, age 74, died Monday, January 11, 2016 in Ann Arbor. He was born November 30, 1941 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Francis & Rita (Cobb)  Herrst. Lloyd lived in Dexter most of his life.  He was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1960, and mowed cemetery lawns around Dexter for many years, including those of St. Andrew's, St. Joseph’s, and Forrest Lawn. He worked as a janitor in many places including a barbershop in Ann Arbor and for the Washtenaw Board of Education. He enjoyed photography and collecting salt and pepper shakers.

Edward Louis Steckler, Jr.

Edward Louis Steckler, Jr., a well-respected antiques dealer, died on December 23, 2015, at age 88. Born in New York City on February 1, 1927, to Dorothy Brill and Edward Louis Steckler, he grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where he lived throughout his childhood and early adult years. Ed graduated from The Lawrenceville School and then served in the American Field Service in India at the end of World War II, after which he returned to earn a degree in political science from Princeton University in 1948. Ed later graduated from New York Law School, married Joan Abajo in 1960, and became a corporate attorney for NBC.

Dominick Anthony Taddonio

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 91, died Monday, December 28, 2015 at Silver Maples of Chelsea. He was born January 1, 1924 in New York, NY, the son of John & Louise (Stolfi) Taddonio.    On June 27, 1947, he married Helen Cotter, and she survives.  Other survivors include four sons, Richard (Jamie) of Grass Lake, John (Ann) of Manchester, Thomas (Doris) of Manchester, Paul of Davison; three daughters, Sr. Anita Marie Taddonio of Livonia, Theresa (Shawn) McFall of Plainwell, Helen (Chuck) Taddonio-Wayner of Topeka, KS; a sister, Anita (Jim) Bonnanzio; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Florian Taddonio and his parents.

Warren "Dean" Alseth

of Chelsea, age 91, Dean died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Chelsea Retirement Community.  He  was born in Lake Preston, South Dakota on February 26, 1924, the youngest of three children born to Charles and Ida (Brooks) Alseth. Dean is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; two daughters, Sharon Alseth Bartholomew (John) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Susan Wellman (Mark) of Chelsea; grandchildren Michelle, Brian and Catherine Wellman; nieces Elizabeth Heller, Martha Heller; and nephew Peter Heller. Dean was preceded in death by his devoted sister and friend Dorothy Heller, and brother Charles Alseth.

Donald Ray Schoenberg

of Chelsea, MI, age 87, passed away peacefully on, Friday, December 18, 2015 in Chelsea, Michigan, and is now with his Lord. He was born September 11, 1928 in Romeo, Michigan, the son of Arthur & Merle (Kimball) Schoenberg. Don graduated from Imlay City High School in 1946. Don worked at many places over the years including; Chelsea Hardware in charge of small engine repair from 1957-1962, he owned and operated a Sinclair Gas Station in Chelsea from 1962-1966, a journeyman carpenter in the Detroit area from 1968-1976,and retired from the University of Michigan Hospital in 1987. After retirement he was “Mr. Handyman” around town, and was know as a master woodworker.
