Michael Jankuski

of Lyndon Township, MI, age 51, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana. Mike was born September 7, 1964 in Oak Lawn, Illinois, the son of Richard Adam & Betty Lee (Kern) Jankuski. Michael was a 1982 graduate of Chelsea High School. Michael was a huge fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers sports teams. Mike was also a huge cat lover. Mike had just relocated to Montana, near his sister and brother to begin a new chapter in his life after the loss of his father in February. He was extremely excited to spend time with his nieces and nephews and was looking forward to the upcoming July 4th holiday family gathering. A life gone too quickly, he was greatly loved and will be missed terribly.

Debra Sayers

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 57, died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a short & valiant fight with lung cancer. She was born May 10, 1958 in Traverse City, MI, the daughter of John Junior & Maudie Samantha (Stafford) Scarbrough. Debra was a graduate of Pioneer High School class of 1976. She worked 37 years at various companies in Ann Arbor in the printing industry. Debra had spent the last few years as a realtor with Reinhart Real Estate in Chelsea. Debra bowled many years at Belmark & Chelsea Lanes. She loved being outdoors and camping. She enjoyed her family, her kids, her grandkids, and her little dogs, Izzy and Floyd.  

James Edward Bates

of Manchester, MI, age 52, died suddenly from a stroke on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in Columbus, GA.  He was born October 9, 1963 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Grover Bates and Alice (Hill) Seaton.  Mr. James Bates served in the Army for 21 years.  During his career he served overseas in Germany and Korea.  His assignments include duty with the 2d Armored Division (Forward), the Nation Training Center, the Berlin Command, the 82d Airborne Division, the 2d Infantry Division and the XVIII Airborne Corps Special Troops Battalion.  Jim retired as a Master Sergeant and continued serving as a civilian until the time of his death.

Patricia S. Spade

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 72, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 7, 2016 with her family by her side at her home in Chelsea, Michigan. She was born January 26, 1944 in New York City to Holt "Pete" and Kathryn Andrews. Pat grew up in Albion, New York where she met her high school sweetheart Vincent. They both attended Alfred University in New York where Pat earned her BSRN. After graduating in 1966, Pat married her love of eight years, Vince, on June 11, 1966.

Margaret "Maggie" McCrossin


Age 92, proud U.S. Marine (WWII) and American citizen, died peacefully Friday, April 22, 2016 after and extended illness. She was born October 24, 1923 in Peterhead, Scotland, the daughter of Robert & Ann (Henderson) Anderson.  Maggie immigrated to Highland Park, MI in 1929.  She graduated from Highland Park High in 1941 and served the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal throughout WWII. Maggie was passionate about her work at Henry Ford Middle School and Graebner Elementary. She also loved her time and friends at her cottage in Stoney Point, Canada.
