Age 95, passed away on March 2, 2017 at Legacy Assisted Living in Jackson, Michigan. Bunny was born on April 3, 1921 in Virginia, Minnesota to M. William and Hilma (Alanen) Anderson.  Bunny moved to Michigan in 2014 to be closer to her children but spent most of her 95 years in Virginia having graduated from Roosevelt High School and Virginia Junior College. She retired as Vice President of Northern State Bank of Virginia after 34 years in banking.

Bunny was a proud supporter of local organizations. She was a member of PEO, Soroptomist International, Study Club, and as a hospital volunteer. She was a Commissioner for the City of Virginia Housing Authority, Class of '39 treasurer, on the Hall of Fame committee, and the all-class reunion committee. Bunny was on a trophy winning bowling team for many years, in a Virginia golf league and enjoyed playing bridge. Bunny had a beautiful voice and in her younger years sang at many weddings, funerals and on WHLB radio. She was an avid exerciser (even before it was popular) and would walk for miles. She loved jewelry, loved to shop and was a fashionista. She also loved animals and was always willing to pet a pup. Bunny's reserved demeanor belied her kind and generous nature and wonderful sense of humor. She even had burping contests with her grandchildren.

Bunny is survived by children Phyllis Muncer, Jeff (Moira) Ash as well as John (Charmy) Norlander; 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John in 2002, stepson Michael, and sisters Lillian and Mildred.

Special thanks to the staff at Legacy Assisted Living who provided a warm, loving and caring home. There were always lots of smiles and hugs and special attention was given to each resident; to Southern Care Hospice staff who provided care with so much compassion and to Lt. Anderson of the Jackson Salvation Army for his ministry.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private burial in Virginia, Minnesota at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be given to the Virginia Foundation, the Mesabi Humane Society or to the organization of your choice. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.

Phyllis and Jeff,
Sorry to read your mom's obit in the Virginia paper. You were lucky to have had her all these years. She was a well respected woman in Virginia and gave you a good life, which it appears you paid her back by seeing as she was living near you. My sympathies---it's hard to lose a parent no matter the age.
