Lawrence P. Wudyka

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Livonia, age 80, died Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home in Chelsea. He was born September 3, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Frank & Lottie (Surowiec) Wudyka.

 Lawrence attended Chadsey High School.  He served in the US Army from 1954-56 in France. Lawrence worked for Chrysler at Sterling Stamping, retiring in May of 1995. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus (3rd degree), Holy Cross Council, and a past Grand Commander of the former Seville Caravan of the International Order of Alhambra. Lawrence attended St. Aidan in Livonia, and St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.

Betty Jane Oesterle

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 95, died after a brief illness, on Friday, July 15, 2016, in Chelsea, Michigan. She was born August 29, 1920 in Chelsea, Michigan, the daughter of Lewis P. and Elisabeth A. (Schoenith) Vogel.  Betty graduated from Chelsea High School in 1938. She attended Michigan State University and University of Michigan, earning a RN Degree. Betty worked in Georgia during WWII, then for U of M Hospital. She stayed home while Jane was young, then went back to work at U of M and volunteered at the United Methodist Home and Chelsea Community Hospital. Betty was active in Chelsea Women's Club and attended Chelsea Congregational Church and St. Paul U.C.C. She was known for her perfectly manicured lawn and beautiful flower gardens.

Betty Howard

Our Kentucky Wonder, Betty (Wireman) Howard, age 91, of Bradenton, FL passed away May 19, 2016 after living a life where every minute counted. Betty was born on July 6, 1924 in Magoffin County, KY, the daughter of George and Pokie (Hale) Wireman. On September 4, 1945 Betty married her one and only, Wiley Howard who preceded her in death December 14, 1985. Employed for 37 years at the Chelsea Methodist Home, Chelsea, MI, Betty was highly valued as an employee and friend. She loved first and foremost her family. She enjoyed and excelled at cooking, growing flowers, vegetables and friends.

Robert K. Schneider, Sr.


of Chelsea, MI, age 86, went home to be with the Lord, and his beloved Billie, the love of his life of 54 years, on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Jackson, Michigan. He was born January 2, 1930 in Chelsea, the son of John Christian & Esther Emma (Page) Schneider.  He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.  He retired from Chrysler Proving Grounds. Bob was active in church works most of his life, and considered passing out tracts his ministry. Now he’s singing in heaven’s choir with his beautiful tenor voice.

Lee Robyn McEachern

of Grass Lake, MI, formerly of Dearborn and Chelsea, age 68, died suddenly Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at his home. He was born September 29, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of John M. & Amelia (Bates) McEachern.

Lee graduated from Dearborn High School in 1964, and attended Ferris State for one year. He served in US Army with the101st Airborne in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After his service, he graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Cleary College.  Lee worked for the Ford Motor Company for 32 years. He spent most of his career at the Sheldon Road plant in Plymouth, retiring as Production Control Manager. Lee was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Michigan Center.  He loved his cabin up north, and working on building projects. Lee always had a good sense of humor. He will be most remembered for his modesty and kindness.
