Helen Druskinis

Helen passed away peacefully on September 3rd, after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded with love. Helen Alice Stell -Bishop -Druskinis was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Cempura) Stell, born on December 11th,1954, and was the youngest of five children: Theresa, Genevieve, Raymond & Anna.

Family meant the world to Helen. A strong woman, she always found a way to move forward. Education was key to her improving herself. She received her GED, a Bachelor's Degree at Cleary College, and then, in her 60s, continued at Washtenaw Community College to receive her CNA Certificate. Her actions taught us that limits are only what one puts upon themselves.

Linda Elizabeth Wolff

of Jackson, MI, formerly of Gregory, MI, age 79, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in her home with family at her side. She was born May 10, 1943, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Paul R. and Dorothea M. (Sodt) Cook.

Linda proudly worked as the secretary of Special Education department in the Stockbridge school district between the mid 1970's and early 1980's before going to work for the local phone company Alltel Corp., from where she later retired.

Betty Jeanne Jacobs

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 82, died Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Kresge Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was born December 27, 1939 in Nashville, Michigan, the daughter of Albert Joseph & Mary Alvadena (Feighner) Bell.  Betty earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Michigan State University.  On August 22, 1964, she married fellow MSU graduate, Gary Douglas Jacobs.  Betty was an art teacher at Grand Blanc High School, and retired from Powers Catholic High School as their architectural and mechanical drawing teacher. Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grand Blanc. For many years, she volunteered for the March of Dimes March for Babies walk. She enjoyed artistic pursuits, such as drawing and painting, pottery, basket weaving and quilting. She made every house a home in Flint, Grand Blanc, Jenison, and Chelsea, Michigan; and in Cocoa, Florida.

John W. "Jack" McGuire Sr.

Of Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 75, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at his home. He was born May 3, 1947 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Lewis & Vivian E. (Hubbard) McGuire.

Jack was a member of Saline High School class of 1965. He was a US Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1968-1971. Jack worked at A & L Parts (Allied Inc.) for 35 years, and later for Glacier Hills Retirement Center for 12 years. Jack enjoyed collecting antique small engines and tractors. He very much enjoyed and loved all his dogs, especially his last two dogs, Barney and Brooke, who went before him.

Shirley Ann Taylor

Of Dexter, Michigan. At age 75, passed away after a decade long battle against cancer on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born September 26, 1946 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the daughter of Joseph & Lillian (Mullins) Anderson.

Shirley spent many years working in the Chelsea School District. She worked in the lunch room at North Creek and Beach Middle schools, and she retired after several years as a school bus driver for Chelsea schools. Shirley was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for many years.
