Lee Nason, born Marilyn Lee Fischer, of Berkeley, California, passed away on January 29, 2025, in Canton, Michigan at the age of 95. She was born December 14, 1929, the daughter of Torsten R. and Agnes (Kahler) Fischer.

Lee was married twice, to Edwin Silva in 1948 and to Robert Nason in 1956. Lee is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Lee Nason and two grandsons, Isaiah Davis and Dylan McBride. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Fischer.

Lee was raised in Berkeley and lived primarily in Brookline, Massachusetts, Crockett, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lee was a secretary and art educator. She worked for many years at the Brookline Rent Control Board. Lee was creative throughout her life, designing and sewing children's costumes and toys, drawing, and doing photography and beadwork. Her proudest achievement was creating The Arts Group, an art program for children that later evolved into The Brookline Arts Center. Lee loved all the arts, but especially painting, textiles, poetry, jazz music and opera.

She will be remembered for her sense of humor, creativity and compassion.
