Florence S. Koengeter

of Chelsea, MI, age 97, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born June 16, 1917 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph & Bertha (Bragonier) Voigt. Florence attended Christian College in Columbia, MO and Eden Seminary in Webster Groves, MO.  She worked at churches in Monroe, WI and Ann Arbor, MI (Bethlehem Church).  She served with her husband, Alton, in Prescott, AZ,  Andover IA, Tripoli, IA, and Burlington IA, before retiring in Chelsea.

Marilyn A. Hinckley

Of Ann Arbor, MI, age 85, died peacefully on  May 31, 2015 at Towsley Village in Chelsea MI. She was born Febuary 11, 1930 to Arthur H. and Mabel (Davis) Becht in Detroit, MI and married Marinus Hinckley Jr. on July 22, 1950 in Saline, MI.  Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.  She dedicated her life to her family. 

Carol Ann Benedict

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 74, died peacefully Friday, May 22, 2015 with her family at her side. She was born August 11, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Norman G. & Ardith L. (Rust) Smits.  Carol was a member of the Chelsea First United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Christian Home Group, Chancel Choir, and Creative Play.  She enjoyed belonging to the United Methodist Bridge Club, “Sit and Stitch”, and Quilting Club.

Stewart H. Robinovitz

Stewart Robinovitzof Chelsea, age 75,  died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at University of Michigan Hospital surrounded by family. He was born November 10, 1939 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Isadore “Izzy” & Rose G. (Zalkind) Robinovitz.  Stewart graduated from Emerson College of Boston with a degree in Theater, and he earned his Masters from the University of Michigan in Radio and Television.  He worked at U of M's Institute of Social Research, and later in information technology, retiring in 2001.  Stewart was a committee member of the Haehnle Audubon Sanctuary.  He was also on the Waterloo Farm Museum Board.

Erwin George Hochrein Jr.

of Dexter, Michigan, Age 85, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his home.  He was born April 18, 1930 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Erwin George & Alma (Kalmbach) Hochrein Sr. Erwin was a Charter Member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea, where he was active as a trustee and usher, and was also on the kitchen committee and in Silver Streaks.   He was a plumber his whole life, and a member of Local 190. He was a Korean War Veteran who earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and was a member of the American Legion in Dexter.
