George Arthur Denton

of Holland, Michigan, age 85, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born January 13, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Wilbur Otha & Mabel (Kuykendall) Denton. He married Lois Katherine Denton, and she survives. Other survivors include 6 daughters, Deborah Gimlin, Vicki (Mark) Daane of Chelsea, Kimberly Neubecker, Lori Shellhouse, Sandra Kelly, and Sherri Rizzo.

Kathleen Mary King

Died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Chelsea. Kathleen was born October 12, 1927, in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of Clarence & Catherine ‘Kitty’ Hanlon, and lived most of her life in the San Francisco Bay Area. Survivors include six children: Dennis, Nancy (William) Harris, John, Kathleen (Dennis) King-Reeves, Richard (Kelly), and Matthew (Marli); 7 grandchildren, Charlene, Elizabeth  (Bret),  Katrina, Veronica, Kelsey, Shannon, and Spencer, and 2 great-grandchildren, Hayley and Ryan.

Joseph Anthony Valle

of Plymouth, Michigan, age 91, died peacefully at University of Michigan Hospital on September 10, 2015. Joe was born on April 4, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio to Floriano and Spreanza (Valentino) Valle. He was the younger brother of Theresa Williams and Frances Ameduri. Joe was a first generation American and was proud to be “full blooded Italian.” In 1942 Joe graduated from Rayen High School in Youngstown and later from Youngstown College.

Rupert G. Otto

Richard Rupert Grant Otto died on June 16, 2015 at Towsley Village Memory Care Center in Chelsea, Michigan. He was born May 3, 1919 in Bessemer, Michigan, the second of three sons born to C.A. Otto and Margaret E. Otto. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his younger brother, Donald.

Rupert joined the army in 1942. He married Alice Fretz of Newberry, MI on June 1, 1943. During the war Rupert taught for three years at Ohio State University, and was discharged as a captain in 1946.
