Donald Ernest Vogel

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 89, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Chelsea. He was born August 6, 1928 in Ann Arbor, the son of William & Myrtle (Sundel) Vogel.  Don graduated from Ann Arbor High School. He was a carpenter for 60 years with Local 512 and Detroit Local. Don was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and traveling to visit family.

Cindy Carol Balliet

Of Munith, MI, age 65, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at her home. She was born May 30, 1952 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of William Irvin & Carol J. (Doty) Balliet.  Cindy graduated from Willow Run High School in 1970. She went to nursing school to become a Nurses Aid, and did private nursing care. Cindy was in charge of records at St. Joe, she worked in housekeeping at U of M, and she cared for the elderly at the Chelsea United Methodist Retirement Community. Cindy attended Salem Grove United Methodist Church. She liked to sew and knit. 

Warren E. McArthur

Age 74, passed away from kidney failure Monday, October 23, 2017 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor surrounded by his family. He was born August 9, 1943 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Floyd Allen & Betty (Turner) McArthur.  Warren graduated from Jackson High School in 1961. He earned a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from Michigan State University and a Master’s in Music Education and Administration from Wayne State University, and later a Master's in Hazardous Waste Management Law and Regulation from Wayne State University. Warren was a Band Director at Clintondale High School, University of Detroit High School, and Dexter High School, ending his teaching career in 1977. Warren and Judy owned and operated Chelsea Cleaners for many years, was a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, and was an environmental consultant for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.

Jeanne Grace McLaughlin

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of London, England, Berrien Springs, MI and Buckhill Falls, PA, age 86, passed peacefully Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan, surrounded by family. She was born February 18, 1931 in London, England, the daughter of James Leonard & Violet Alexandra (Hebden) Spall. Jeanne lived the first half of her life in England before moving to Michigan in 1978. She lived in Berrien Springs, MI and Buckhill Falls, PA; since 2007 she resided in Chelsea. A nurse by training (College of London Nursing), she worked for four decades in different settings in England and the United States. Active with her church (St. Barnabus), the Master Gardener program, and Hearts Community Service, she lived a full and active life--independent to the end. An inveterate traveler she visited England, Indonesia, Australia, and much of the US. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick McLaughlin. In addition to her faith, she rejoiced in connections with her extended family, including grandchildren that lived close by, and her great-grandchildren.

Barbara Jane Crisenbery Kehoe

Age 86, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Arbor Hospice Residence in Saline. She was born April 9, 1931 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Wendell T. & Eleanor L. (Godley) Bather. Barbara graduated from Jackson High School in 1948. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Barbara  worked as an Executive Secretary for 12 years for General Motors in Hudson, OH and Toledo, OH, retiring  in 1986.  Barbara volunteered at the Chelsea Community Hospital since 1997. She enjoyed music and piano, and was an avid gardener.
