Adaline M. Stone
of Chelsea, MI, age 96, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born March 11, 1920 in Chelsea, Michigan, the daughter of George & Amanda (Schweikert) Scripter.
Adaline worked at Federal Screw. On Oct. 14, 1950, she married Edward “Earl” Stone, and he preceded her in death on July 27, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Levi, and her sisters, Ethel and Minnie.

of Chelsea, MI and Vero Beach, FL, age 95, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 in Vero Beach, Florida. He was born June 4, 1921 in Belmont, Michigan, the son of Otis & Elenor (Overly) Shears. Mr. Shears was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1253 and the American Legion Post 31 in Chelsea, and was a Master Plumber by profession. He owned Hilltop Plumbing, the first plumbing company in Chelsea. Bob lived in Chelsea since 1941, and spent winters in Florida.
Chelsea, MI, formerly of Ypsilanti, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor. She was born September 18, 1929 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Oscar P.M. & Esther L. (Gane) Ohlson. Joan worked for Judge Shea at the 14A District Court, Washtenaw County from 1974 until her retirement. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti, and attended the First Congregational Church of Chelsea. Joan volunteered at the Lutheran Church’s “Clothes Closet”. She had a lot of friends at the Pines in Chelsea, where she lived for the past year. Joan was a good cook. She enjoyed square dancing and crocheting baby blankets for gifts.
