Ray Frederick Kemner

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 81, died Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Chelsea Hospital. He was born September 24, 1941, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Ernest & Helene (Mergenthaler) Kemner.

Ray graduated from Manchester High School in 1959. He served in the US Air Force from 1962 until he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1982. Ray began a second career at Chrysler Pentastar Aviation, working there for 15 years. In his retirement, Ray drove a school bus for the Chelsea School District, and taught at the Aeronautical Institute at the Yankee Air Museum. He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester his entire life. Ray lived in Chelsea since 1982. He had been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Chelsea, where he was Secretary for over 30 years. Ray was recognized for his work at St. Louis Center for Boys, with the Boy Scouts, and for his help at Mott Children’s Hospital. He was a very patriotic American.

Wallace Gerald “Jerry” Hermanson

of Bloomfield Township, Michigan, age 90, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at Sunrise of Bloomfield in Bloomfield Township. He was born July 21, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Carl Walter and Martha L. (Waara) Hermanson. His family came from Sweden, and their surname Bjorg was changed to Hermanson when they came to the United States.

Jerry retired as a Claims Supervisor from State Farm Insurance. He graduated from Plymouth High School, earned his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, and attended graduate school at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Martha "Marti" Vis

Age 101, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Silver Maples of Chelsea. She was born July 26, 1921, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Alonzo and Bertha (Sawyer) Donnelly.

Marti taught at Bach Elementary and Carpenter Elementary. She was a member of the Ann Arbor City Women's Club. Marti enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. She won many bridge club tournaments. There are many fond memories of the family with Robert and Martha Torbet at the cottage in Canada. Marti was a beautiful watercolor painter.

Elizabeth Marie Aldrich

of Pinckney, Michigan, age 53, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at her home. She was born December 14, 1968, in Howell, Michigan, the daughter of Robert E. & Shirley M. (Hadden) Aldrich. Liz was the secretary at Dexter Gospel Church from 1988-2021 and was a former member there. Liz was homeschooled. She loved sports.

Survivors include her father, Robert Aldrich of Pinckney; a sister, Patricia (Marc) Reish of Pinckney; three aunts, Betty, Janet (Bud), and Charlotte; one uncle, Ernie (Janet); two nieces and three nephews, Corey, Garit (Jessica), Tyler, Alisha, and Allyson; and special cousins, Del (Grace), and Dawn. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Aldrich in 2011.

John T. "Jack" Stewart

Jack was 92 years old when he went to meet Jesus on September 25, 2022. He was born on September 12, 1930, in Lincoln Park, Michigan to parents, James and Rebecca Stewart who immigrated from Scotland in 1920. He is the fifth sibling of six and only the second to be born in the U.S. Jack graduated high school in 1948, from Trenton High in Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Diane; his two daughters, Jackie Bearden and Jan (Bruce) Fleming; granddaughters Ali (Eric), Kelly (Brian), Sarah (Mike), Amy (David); great-grandchildren, Eva, Mari, Constance, Macy, Paige, Scarlett, Bruce, Diana, James, and John; and his sister Kathy.
