Patrick Joseph O'Dowd

Of Saline, Michigan, age 86, died Monday, January 9, 2023. He was born November 15, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of John Michael and Katherine (Maloney) O'Dowd.

Patrick graduated from St. Theresa High School and went to the University of Detroit. He was a Social Worker employed by the State of Michigan. Patrick was very involved in the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Kathleen Ann Thompson

Of Ann Arbor, MI, formerly of Wyandotte, age 82, died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington. She was born October 10, 1940 in Wyandotte, Michigan, the daughter of Charles David and Mary Agnes (Carmody) McGrath.

 Kathleen attended the First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor. She worked for the Ann Arbor Public Schools Administration and retired in 2009.

Johan Stohl

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Albion, age 89, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Silver Maples of Chelsea. He was born September 19, 1933, in Warren, Pennsylvania, the son of Harold and Louise (Cogswell) Stohl.

Johan was an Albion College professor, an ordained minister, and a member of the Unitarian Universalist congregation of Ann Arbor. Johan had an active social life at Silver Maples being a part of the choir, Silver Linings campaign, and promotional activities for Silver Maples. He was a published poet and a deeply admired professor; a beloved husband and family man.

Arlene Ruth Naebeck

Of Tecumseh, MI, formerly of Ann Arbor. Age 92, went to be with the Lord and her husband, Arnold on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at her daughter's home. She was born July 1, 1930 in Freedom Township, the daughter of Joseph L. & Amanda L. (Henes) Bersuder.

Arlene graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1948. She worked at the Washtenaw County Clerk’s office until 1991. Arlene was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, and was a fantastic vacation planner, including a very special trip to Alaska. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family.

Ronald Edwin Austin

Age 91, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Chelsea, Michigan, where he was a resident of the Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born November 30, 1931, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the son of Thomas Clare and Mary Fern (Turk) Austin.

He was a graduate of Oil City High School, the College of Wooster, Ohio, and the University of Michigan School of Information and Library Studies. He was most recently employed as a Reference and Collection Development Librarian at the University of Michigan Graduate Library. He retired from that position in 1994.
