Cora Johnson Bell of Ann Arbor, age 85, died Monday, January 13, 2020, at her home. She was born August 6, 1934, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of William Arthur & Ida Mae (Holmes) Brown.
 
Cora attended the Madonna Parish in Detroit, where she served for many years. She worked for the school district of Highland Park for 34 years. Cora enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a joyful spirit, and everyone loved to be around her. Cora told the truth in a direct, yet loving way.
   
Cora married Absalom Johnson in 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1966. She later married Eddie Bell, who survives. She is also survived by her sons, Anthony Brown Sr. of Detroit, Andre Johnson of Flint, Miles Johnson of Ann Arbor, Marcus Johnson of Ann Arbor; a daughter, Alice Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA; a sister, Inora Wellington of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Johnson.
 
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her family. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
