Obituaries

of Dexter, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 15th, 2017 at the age of 77. Jan was born May 9th, 1939 in Battle Creek, MI to Juanita Mae (Butts) and Leo Stanley Blowers.

In her younger years, Jan worked at the Bill Cochrane Chrysler Dealership in Garden City where she met her husband Chester. She loved spending time with family and friends and also traveling, which included a sight-seeing trip across the country to California. She also enjoyed winter vacations in Florida with the family, where she loved picking shells on the white sandy beaches as well as visiting Disney World.

As a wife and mother, she dedicated herself to loving, guiding, and raising her family. Jan also worked as a secretary at The University of Michigan where she retired from the Dental Public Health Department. Jan was an excellent seamstress and loved baking for her family and others.

Jan’s passion in life was to spread the Gospel with everyone she met, so that all could know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Whitmore Lake where she made many beloved friends. She was actively involved in the all of the different ministries offered, including singing in the choir, participating in prayer groups, and guiding youth to Christ. In addition, she took great joy in tending to the church garden and plants.

Jan will be dearly missed and is survived by her brother, Jerry Blowers, children Christine (Troczynski) Fierek and Michael (Elise) Troczynski, and her grandsons Andrew, Joseph, and Timothy Fierek, all of Whitmore Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, and both her brother Robert and sister-in-law Shirley Blowers.

Family will receive friends beginning at 10am on March 11th, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at noon with a luncheon to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 10774 Nine Mile Road, Whitmore Lake, MI 48189.

Jan was a dedicated Christian. My prayers go out to the entire family during this difficult time. Jan now lives in a house not made with hands and will for evermore.
