Age 60, died unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm on Monday, October 10, 2011 while gardening at her son's home.
She was born March 10, 1951 in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of Richard M. & Katherine (LaPlante)White.
Karen earned her business degree from Eastern Michigan University, and worked as finance director for the Washtenaw County Road Commission from 1985-1996. She loved to garden, and was a Master Gardener through the MSU Extension program. Karen enjoyed tennis, bicycling, and spending time with her granddaughter.
On March 13, 1971, she married David R. Neal, and he survives. Other survivors include her father, Richard White of Chelsea; a son, Douglas Neal of Dexter, and his girlfriend, Samantha Tank; a daughter, Kathleen (Jeremy) Kane of Kingston, NY; a brother, James (Judy) White; sisters, Debbie (Duane) Hurtado, Julie (Martin) Baker; and a granddaughter, Celia Kane. She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service was held Monday, October 17, 11:00 a.m. at the Chelsea First Congregational Church, with Rev. Dr. Barbara Edema officiating.
