Obituaries

Roy Neil Petsch of Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 92, went to be with the Lord, peacefully, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Chelsea Retirement Community in Kresge. He was born October 2, 1933, in Pinckney, Michigan, the son of Adolph Ronald and Ruth Dottie (Leffler) Petsch.

Roy worked for the Chrysler Proving Grounds and then served in the US Army from 1953 - 1955, during the Korean War, as a Sergeant. After serving, he went back to the Proving Grounds, and drove a semi truck for many companies, until his retirement from Consolidated Trucking at the age of 65. Roy was very involved in the Ann Arbor Baptist Church as a deacon, preacher, and bus driver. He enjoyed playing baseball and even had a chance to try out for the Detroit Tigers. Roy was an easy-going guy who loved his family.

Roy is survived by his sons, Randy Petsch of Ann Arbor, and Tim Petsch of Ann Arbor; their mother, Anna Petsch of Ann Arbor; brothers, David Petsch of Brooklyn, and Ellsworth Petsch of Chelsea; sister, Marilyn Denhart of Waterloo; grandchildren, Melissa Petsch and Renee White; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roy “Neil” Petsch, Jr.; brothers, Adolph Jr., James, Donald, William, and Frederick; and sisters, Emily, Betty, and Mildred Fish.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 6th at 1:00 p.m. at Scio Farms Clubhouse 6655 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. A private burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.

I wish I had known you were sick but no one in the family keeps in contact with us since bompa passed away (your brother Fred) I will always remember you for for humor and witty conversations when we would all gather at Jonathan's (Classic Cup) along with big boy all those years!
