Sweet Darrin Lopez of Jackson, Michigan, age 15, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor. He was born March 28, 2010, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Roberto Lopez and Kelly Sue (Allward) Lopez.
Darrin was a student at High Point in Ann Arbor, and was currently a student at Jackson County Intermediate School District. Darrin was a very vocal, loving kid, with the best smile and great belly laugh. He liked to swim and be around his siblings- especially when they were in trouble.
He is survived by his parents, Roberto and Kelly of Jackson; his grandparents, Cheryl Allward of Grass Lake, Cynthia and Willie Kellihan of Grass Lake; his great-grandmother, Betty Geer of Chelsea; his siblings, Allyssa Lopez, Macario Lopez, Jayden Allward, Jordyn Bliss, Carter Lopez; his aunts, Holli (Jason) Clayton, Kati (Steve) Faust, Kelli Kellihan; and his uncle, Kevin Kellihan.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, at 3pm, at Cole Funeral Chapel with Rev. Anna Good officiating. Family will receive friends an hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family’s Go Fund Me.
