I met Rob at the Michigan Local History Conference when a mutual friend introduced us back in 2012. I was happy to publicize the relevant programs he was offering at the Caroline Kennedy Library in my weekly Detroit History email blasts. And then he gave me a chance to give my Gone With The Wind talk there, plus a monthlong display of my memorabilia. He opened the door to additional opportunities to give my talk. I hadn't been in touch since before COVID. Interesting that I learned of his passing while attending this year's local history conference. Serendipity! Rob was a good guy! I know he will be missed dearly by his family and friends and colleagues. My condolences to you all! May all the memories of good times together comfort you as you say goodbye.

Goodbye to a very dear friend as well as a wonderful colleague. You will be sorely missed. Goodbye, too, to Forest, Sebastian and the rest of the crew of his puppet show.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and Allis at this time. Know that through you, he smiles upon us all.

To the Butler family.
I am very sorry for your loss. Sandy is my dear friend. We taught together at Holmes Elementary. I also student I taught at Burns Park while Linda taught there. I remember when Robert performed his puppet show at the school. The students really enjoyed it. I could tell his spirit was gentle and kind. May he rest in heaven.
I am praying for all of you.

Love and Comfort
