Obituaries

of Adrian, Michigan, formerly of Manchester, Chelsea, and Gladwin, age 84, died Friday, May 17, 2024, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian. He was born January 6, 1940, in Manchester, Michigan, the son of Amos Charles and Minnie Bell (O'Neil) Curtis.

David graduated from Manchester High School. He served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1966. He worked for Grossman Heuber Oil, and James Schnearle in Manchester. He retired from Chelsea School District where he worked as a custodian. He was also a substitute bus driver for Gladwin schools. David was a member of the National Threshers Association. He loved steam engines. David never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything.

David married Theresa Rose “Terri” Schreiner on June 18, 1986. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2023. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Paula Curtis, and Ethel Curtis; special niece, Carol (Bill) Cammet, who was the daughter he never had; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Charles Curtis, Norman Curtis, Elton Curtis, Robert Curtis, William Curtis, Margret Wahl, and Mary Lou Hamilton Brautigam.

Thank you to all the staff at Lenawee Medical and Hospice for all the loving care given to him. A special thank you to Chuck and Kathy Sauerback for their weekly visits since he became a resident at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.

No public services are planned. Burial will be at Sharon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Threshers Association: NTA Treasurer, Sean Malone, 12031 Township Rd. 67, Findlay, OH 45840.

So sorry to read this. My mom Shirley Flint used to talk about the Curtis family and David. She had lots of
Memories of David and his family.
