J came into my art supply shop & asked if i’d sell his stickers. I didn’t hesitate! Thereafter he was a regular who’d come in and hang out for hours, stalking about art, showing me his stuff… it was very special. His stickers are still up at the shop (although there aren’t many left!) and it won’t be the same without him. I’m so sad I didn’t get to know him longer.

J was an amazing person. He reached out to me and helped me through a very dark period. He cared about people, and he took time to show it. I still can’t believe he’s gone.

I met Jay over 20 years ago. He was one of the first people I met when I came to Ann Arbor. He was so genuine and so kind and so helpful to everyone he met. Jay you’re going to be so missed by so many people.

We are so saddened to learn of Jason’s untimely passing. We knew him over many years and although he had many ups and downs he had found a good path to navigate his journey. Jason demonstrated kindness and caring for others in his life. May the Peace of the Lord be with you all at this time.

I find it hard to accept this as reality. J was a great person to work with and for. He had a way of making you feel seen and heard that not many people could. He knew when to sit back and just listen and he knew when to say just the thing you needed to get you back on track. His calm presence was always welcome in the chaos of the holiday. Every time I saw J after leaving ZMO, he would hug me like family. It was always comforting to know that I was always welcome and in his eyes I was always good. You will be missed J.
