Of Jackson, MI, formerly of Chelsea, age 84, died Friday, February 4, 2022 at her home in Jackson, Michigan. She was born June 19, 1937 in Jackson, the daughter of Bert J. & Veronica A. (Daniel) Smith.
Helene worked for various retail facilities for many years and was a member of St. Johns Church of Jackson.
She loved to walk daily through the parks and take in the Lord’s joy throughout the day and every day. Helene also enjoyed her evening time studying the bible.
On August 16, 1958, she married Wendall K. Marshall in Jackson, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1990. Survivors include two sons, David (Claudia) Marshall of Raymondville, MO; Kevin Marshall of Jackson; her brothers, George (Bernice) Smith of Pleasant Lake, Lawrence (Eleanor) Smith of Rives Junction; her sister-in-law, Gloria Smith of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Smith, Thomas Smith, Gerald Smith; and her sister, Frances Osterberg.
Per Helene's wishes she has been cremated and there will be no services. She will be buried in Oak Grove East Cemetery, Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor or Make a Wish Foundation. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
