Barbara Clark
Age 75, of Jonesville, VA and formerly of Chelsea, MI, passed away in her home on Monday August 8, 2022, after a short illness. She was born on October 11th, 1946, the daughter of Russell and Kathleen Bernath, who both preceded her death.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Clark; a son, Gregory (Christina) Clark of Defiance, OH, daughter, Kristen (Donald) Rogers of Jonesville, VA; four grandchildren, Blake (Paige) Clark of Defiance, OH, Zackary Clark of Bradenton, FL, and Colten and Cayden Rogers of Jonesville, VA; and one great-grandchild, Oakley Clark of Defiance, OH. Barbara was a member of Cedar Hill Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing quilting and gardening.
Age 65, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born January 5, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Robert K. and Violet (Broder) Sherwin. He married Kathy (Hilton) Sherwin, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2019. Survivors include his son, Ryan Jacob Sherwin of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Evelyn Mae Sherwin & Vivienne Marie Sherwin; step-daughter, Amy Hilton; step-grandchildren, Sydney Hilton and Alicia Hilton; siblings, Mary (Sherwin) Bartlett of North Port, FL; Shelly (Sherwin) Davis of Saline, MI; and nieces Nicole Sweeny, Ashley Vermeylen, Morgan Compton, and Lauren Gawura.
Anita Parks, age 82, was born April 22, 1940, in Halstead, Kansas, the third of six children of Anthon and Gladys (Walters) Sundbye. She died on Monday, August 1, 2022, at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Anita graduated from Halstead High School in 1958, then attended Southwestern College (KS) for two years. She completed her BA in education at Wichita State University in 1963, and her MA in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University in 1977.
Douglas Charles Hartley was born on October 12, 1949, to Harold W. Hartley and his wife, Florine (‘nee Kinne), in Monroe, Michigan. He was received into God’s Kingdom of grace through Holy Baptism on November 13, 1949, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monroe by Pastor Adalbert Schultz. He was also confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Paul’s by Pastor Lawence Nolte.
