Stephen Harold Hinshaw

Stephen Harold Hinshaw of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Ann Arbor, age 75, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born August 12, 1950, in Winchester, Indiana, the son of Paul & Thelma (Sheppard) Hinshaw.

Steve graduated from Monroe Central High School in Parker City, Indiana. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in biology from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. Right after graduating, he worked as Curator of Education at the Dayton Museum. After moving to Michigan, he worked as an auto mechanic, then earned his pilot's license and flew freight out of Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti. He subsequently owned Ann Arbor Aero Service, where he taught flight students in standard skills and aerobatics. He enjoyed flying banners for sporting events in several states and was chief pilot for U of M Flying Club. He also enjoyed taking his children up in the air for loop-de-loops!

Shirley Loy

Of Whitmore Lake, MI, age 90, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at her home. She was born August 30, 1935, the daughter of Forrest & Eula Bonnette.

Shirley graduated from Marietta High School in Ohio. Shirley loved to cook. She was a cook at Stadium Tavern in Ann Arbor for many years. Shirley enjoyed catering after she retired. She fed everyone, and loved helping people.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Jerry) Anderson of Munith, Woodrow Loy of Hartland, Cheryl Fleming of Spring Arbor, James (Rhonda) Loy of Stockbridge, Lanny Loy of Whitmore Lake, Scott Loy of Ann Arbor, John Loy of Napoleon; her brothers, Jack Bonnette, Steve Bonnette, David Bonnette; her sisters, Charlotte Cowan, Janice Blake, Rilla Wetz; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph Loy; her siblings Gary Bonnette, Donna Hill, and Mary Patterson.

Ronald (Ron) Lee Griffith

Ronald (Ron) Lee Griffith, 91 of Dexter, Michigan, passed away on January 15,2026, after a short illness.

Ron was born in Navarre, Ohio, August 29, 1934, to Webster (Web) and Willa Griffith. He had 5 brothers, Eugene (Jeep), Larry, Jim, Glen, and Cliff. His parents and brothers have all preceded him in death.

He graduated from Canton South HS in 1953, where he played football and met his future wife, Barbara Elenora Lanning.

On June 12th, 1955, he married Barbara. They were married for 62 years until her death in 2020.

Ron attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, on a football scholarship. He graduated in 1957, with a BA in Math and was promptly drafted into the Army.

During his time in the Army, he was trained in a brand-new technology at the time, computing. This would become his lifelong vocation.

Gregory Diemer

Of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Grosse Ile, age 82, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Trinity Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born March 4, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Donald Leo & Thelma Louise (Hartnett) Diemer.
