It is not always possible to feel jolly and merry at Christmas.  If your heart is heavy due to a loss or other difficult circumstances, I encourage you to attend a Blue Christmas service.  They are usually held on Dec. 21st, because that is the longest night of the year - symbolic of some of the darkest days in our lives.  This service is a space of worship and healing for those who experience grief and difficulty during the holiday season. The service will be candle lit, and will include music, prayer, and space for reflection. Come as you are, and know that you are not alone when things feel difficult.
