Marie Therese O’Connor McNeely quietly slipped away on April 23, 2020, returning to God’s heavenly embrace. Born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in September of 1928 to Joseph L. and Mary M. “Mayme” (Murphy) O’Connor, Marie grew up in Farmington, Michigan, and attended St. Joseph Academy, a Catholic boarding high school for girls in Adrian, Michigan. She pursued higher education at the Detroit Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, and leading women in the profession as one of the first female Registered Pharmacists in 1950. Gerald Joseph Tartoni
Gerald “Jeri/Jerry/Jere” Tartoni was born on September 9, 1941, to Helen (Lazzeri) and Guiseppe “Joe” Tartoni. He took his final bow on April 21, 2020. In his life, Jeri took the road less traveled. After graduating from Bentley High School in Livonia in 1959 he married and started his family at the same time as he pursued his college education. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University majoring in political science and philosophy and earned an accelerated fellowship at Wayne State University.Ann Lucille Crispell
Of Chelsea, MI, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Ann passed away peacefully at age 91 on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at the Evangelical Home in Saline. She was born October 4, 1928 in Canton, OH, the daughter of Louis & Mary (Contini) Schiavone. Ann studied fashion design at Pratt School of Design and worked as a fashion illustrator in Canton until she met and married Roger Lloyd Crispell. After a start in Ithaca, New York, they spent most of their married life in Bloomfield Hills. Throughout her life as an artist, wife, mother and grandmother, she used her creative abilities and outstanding memory in countless generous ways. She was an avid reader, member of the “Red Hats” of Chelsea, as well as a member of a Chelsea book club.
Elaine Hope (Joseph) Bonwit
of Chelsea, Michigan, age 98; died Monday April 27, 2020, at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born December 23, 1921, in Hempstead, New York, the daughter of Morris & Gertrude (Silberstein) Joseph. Elaine was raised on Long Island, New York. She graduated from her all-girls high school as Valedictorian at age 15 1/2, enrolled briefly at City College of New York, and then moved to Washington, DC, at age 19. There, Elaine attended George Washington University, earning a degree in Accounting. On July 10, 1943, she married fellow GW grad Stuart Bonwit.James Offord
Of Dexter, MI, age 63, died of cancer on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Michigan Medicine. He was born May 2, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of John & Ruth (Watson) Offord. Jim was raised in Indianapolis. He attended Illinois State University, where he met his wife. Later, he earned his PhD in biochemistry from the University of Iowa. Jim was a research scientist for Pfitzer. He was a Pharmaceutical & Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Department of Pharmacology.
