Linda Sue Wilson

Photo of Linda Wilsonof Manchester, MI, formerly of Southgate, age 74, died Monday, October 19, 2020 at her home. She was born July 7, 1946 in Tupelo, Mississippi, the daughter of Thomas Ivan and Delcie Orene (Barber) Bowles.  Linda graduated from Riverview High School in 1964. She was a proud mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a strong Christian woman who put her faith, family and friends as her top priorities. Linda started a Bunco club in 1972, that is still going strong today. She was an avid quilter providing beautiful heirlooms to her family and friends. She loved to travel and visited much of the United States and several national parks. Linda was a member of the Manchester Area Historical Society and of the Sharon United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Dorcas Society

D. David Redic

 
Of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Dayton, OH, age 75, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the U of M Hospital. He was born July 18, 1945 in Long Island, New York, the son of Donald Carl & Geraldine (Semple) Redic.
 
Dave graduated from Mercer High School in 1963, and then Grove City College, Ohio University, and Wright State University. He had a variety of professions. Dave worked in air pollution control and environmental regulation and enforcement. He was also an entrepreneur who owned his own business. Dave valued hard work of any sort, and he was a respected manager across his many jobs. Dave had strong values which were reflected in his loyalty to his family, and his reliability in his routine and habits. He volunteered after he retired as a way to give back and to honor his values. His volunteering included working at a food pantry, transporting senior citizens, and donating blood. Dave was an avid gardener, and loved to be outdoors, swimming, biking, and running. He enjoyed traveling with friends, playing cards, and weekly pool games at the Senior Center.  Dave was full of life, humor and good cheer.  He loved being a husband, father, and grandfather, where his values live on.

Margaret Jane (Doyle) Smith

Of Chelsea, Michigan, age 72, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the U of M Hospital. She was born August 12, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Frederick J. & Winifred L. (Thornton) Doyle.

Margaret graduated from St. Thomas High School in Ann Arbor in 1966. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. Margaret was a happy mother and homemaker who enjoyed her mystery novels. She raised 5 kids, and enjoyed her 5 grandkids.

Carl Ventimiglia

of Chelsea, MI, age 76, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Birchwood Manor in Ann Arbor. He was born January 11, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Carlo & Maria (Tringali) Ventimiglia.

Carl was an Engineer Technologist for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. He was a US veteran, serving in Korea. In 1978, Carl married Nancy E. Abfalter, and she survives. Other survivors include his brother, Daniel (June) Ventimiglia, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul Anthony Daoust

 
of Chelsea, Michigan, age 83, died Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his home at the Pines in Chelsea. He was born September 14, 1937 in Plymouth, Michigan, the son of John & Florence (Hebert) Daoust. Paul was a very hard working man providing for his wife and five children.  His skills as an iron worker took him across the country from the crew assembling the Seattle Space Needle, to the bridges spanning the Ohio River in Cincinnati, and finally back to Michigan.  As a proud member of the UAW, he worked for many years in Skilled Trades at the GMC transmission plant in Ypsilanti.  Paul and his wife Marilyn’s home was often referred to as “The Chelsea Hotel”  where they always welcomed extended family with open arms, especially during the summer.  He treated everyone as his friend.  He enjoyed keeping up his yard, small garden and pool.  Paul also very much loved to read.  Paul was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.
