Of Manchester, MI, age 84, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti. He was born October 9, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Harry & Ruth (Mills) Willson. A lifelong airplane aficionado, he was a pilot and even built his own kit-plane, an Avid Flyer.  Howard retired from Chrysler, where he had worked as an engineer for 34 years until his retirement in 2000.
  He is survived by two children, Lauren (Tim) Wacker of Manchester; Doug (Judi) Willson of Grass Lake; many grand- and great-grandchildren.
 
 Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea, and Howard will rest next to his beloved, Leona M. Kuhl.
 
Due to the continuing pandemic restrictions there will be no public funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the Society of Automotive Engineering Foundation (https://www.saefoundation.org/).  Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
