of Chelsea, Michigan, age 69, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Angela Hospice in Livonia. He was born October 12, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. Mike is the son of Anthony O. & Mary Clare (Fuerst) Weiss. Mike retired from Chrysler Proving Grounds where he was a driver/mechanic and a former Chief Union Steward for UAW Local 1284. He graduated from Centerline High School in 1968. He began his service in the National Guard in 1968, and was a member of the American Legion Post 31. Mike attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.
He is survived by two brothers, Mark J. Weiss and Matthew A. Weiss; two sisters, Ann M. Bush and Mary E. Weiss; and nine nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea, with the V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10-11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
