of Roscommon, MI, age 72, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She was born September 15, 1946 in Highland Park, Michigan, the daughter of Francis Eugene & Phyllis Jean (Trost) Warren.  Carol graduated from Troy High School, and then attended Eastern Michigan University. She worked at Boss Engineering, GM Proving Grounds, Entech, Man Power, and RDS. Carol and Brian opened the Cinnamon Stick Farm Bed & Breakfast in Clio, MI and operated it for over 20 years. She received the “Hospitality Award” for the best establishment in Genesee County five times. She loved hospitality and had guests from all over the world. Carol belonged to quilt groups in Genesee County and Houghton Lake. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North. Carol loved people. She liked traveling, gardening, walking, taking hikes and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Brian Powell; 5 children, Thomas (Julie) Avery of Grand Blanc, Leanne (Ash) Avery of Cary, NC, Aaron (Gwen) Powell of Croswell, MI, Gabriel (Carrie) Powell of Norway, MI, Jon (Nikki) Powell of Galesburg, MI; two sisters, Pat (Robert) Robertson of Shelby Township, Sandra (Lyle Price) McElgunn of Clinton Township; 8 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents.
 
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 29, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North, 149 W Robinson Lake Rd, Roscommon, MI with Pastor Thomas Hoffmeyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North.
