of Grass Lake, MI, age 91, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 5, 2014 while at Chelsea Community Hospital. He was born April 26, 1923 in Wheeling Township, Ohio, the son of George C. & Mary H. (Major) Jordan.

  George was a member of Harvest Baptist Church (formerly North Sharon Baptist), where he taught Sunday School since 1971.  George had worked at Ann Arbor Bank for 13 years, Argus for 13 years, Postal Service for 25 years, and has farmed since 1967.  He served in the Coast Guard during WWII.  George was a witness for Jesus wherever he went.

   On April 19, 1949, he married Rose Dailey, and she survives. Other survivors include one son, George V. (Vickie) Jordan Jr. of Allen Park; one daughter, Rosemary (Russ) Maurer of Norvell; seven grandchildren, David Jordan, Starla Walker, Danny (Myra) Jordan, Crystal (Brent) Byrd, Michael Jordan, Jenifer Mauer, Susanah (Eric) Newsom ; and six great-grandchildren, Brooke Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Joey Jordan, Tianna Newsom, Mia Jordan, Vashti Jordan. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Russell Maurer and Billy Maurer; and two sisters Phyllis J. Henry & Clara Donnelly.

   Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 9, Noon, at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, Pastors Bob Toler & Ned Bernstein officiated.  Burial followed at Mount Hope Cemetery in Litchfield.  The family received friends Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Harvest Baptist Church,17999 Washburn Rd, Grass Lake, Michigan 49240.
