of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, formerly of Chelsea and Tecumseh, age 82, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Ann Arbor. She was born June 30, 1931 in Royalton, Kentucky, the daughter of Wiley & Fadie (Bailey) Fletcher.
Joyce was a member of the Church of Christ in Chelsea and Stockbridge. She loved to garden, paint, cook, sew, and help her husband build houses.
On July 3, 1948, she married Lawrence G. Salyer in Salyersville, KY, and he survives. Other survivors include her two daughters, Linda (Carl) Foster of Fenton, Patricia (Kevin) DeVoy of Whitmore Lake; 3 grandchildren, Tammy (David III) Goodman, Alissa (Scott) Stewart, and Thomas Lawrence DeVoy; 3 great-grandchildren, Karalyn Goodman, David Goodman IV, and Caleb Stewart. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 16, 2:00 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Thomas Lawrence DeVoy officiating. A graveside prayer will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chelsea. The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday 1-5 pm.
