of Chelsea, age 64, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Chelsea, Michigan. He was born June 3, 1949 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Marion & Florence (Echoff) Swank.
He enjoyed gardening and was a charter member of the Chelsea Community Garden. And he delighted in his grandchildren. On Aug. 14, 1969, he married Carol Witzenburg in Pella, Iowa, and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Michael (Robyn) Swank; two daughters, Shari (Wally) Donovan, and Monica Swank; two brothers, Bob and Ken; two sisters, Marianne O'Rourke and Bonita Hetherington; 4 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phillip.
A memorial service was held Friday, December 13, 2013, at 11:00 am at Sharon United Methodist Church, Manchester, with Pastor Peter Harris officiating. The family received friends at 10:00 am.
