Age 84, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in his home. He was born August 30, 1928 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Carl Melvin & Florence Mabel (Erridge) Taylor.
Russel was a Navy veteran who served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a firefighter with the Ann Arbor Fire Department. Russ enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was active in the Kaleva Snowmobile Club.
On December 11, 1946, he married Patricia Willsher and she preceded him in death on April 5, 2012. Survivors include a son, Stephen A. (Susan) Taylor; 2 grandsons, Christopher (Sarah) Taylor of Grass Lake, Mark (Megan) Taylor of Chelsea; 4 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Kylie, Dominik, Kain; 5 nieces, and 1 nephew. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda S. Taylor.
A private burial will be at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor. Arrangements were handled by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
