of Columbia City, Indiana, formerly of Chelsea, MI.  Age 75,  died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake, IN.

She was born January 8, 1937 in Highland Park, Michigan, a daughter of the late Henry H. and Margaret C. (Kendall) Bowman. Her formative years were spent in the Detroit area. She graduated from Redford High School in 1955. She began college at Michigan State University and completed her Bachelor's Degree at Wayne State University in Business with a minor in Psychology.

On September 7, 1957 she was united in marriage to Daniel R. Maroney. They made their home in Ferndale, Michigan then moved to Chelsea, then Perrysburg, Ohio before moving to Columbia City in 1968.

She was employed by Lincoln National Life Insurance, Fort Wayne until her retirement in 1995. Her memberships included Tri Kappa, Michigan State Alumni and the Michigan Jaycees.

Surviving relatives include her husband of 55 years, Dan; four children, Kathleen Patricia Vessey of Fairfax, VA; Michael Daniel Maroney of Warsaw, IN; Carrie Ann (Michael) Yocum of Winona Lake, IN; Mari Lynne (Brian) Wineland of Columbia City, IN; 6 grandchildren, Lauren and Amanda Vessey, Richard and Brandon Maroney, Katherine Yocum and Savannah Wineland; a great-granddaughter Alyssa Maroney; and sister Margaret "Peg" Currie of Palm Bay, FL.  She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Bowman.

The funeral service was held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, IN with visitation from 4 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Additional visitation was held at Cole Funeral Chapel, 214 E. Middle St, Chelsea, MI on Sunday, Sept. 23, from11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial immediately followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea, MI.
