Age 96, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Chelsea Retirement community . She was born November 4, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Henry J. & Elsa Meisenbacher (Stohrer) Ehms.

Mrs. Crain moved to Chelsea in 2000, coming from New Port Richey, FL.  She is formerly of Birmingham, Michigan. She loved to read, and enjoyed painting china. Louise was a ruthless bridge player. In her younger years Louise loved to dance to the sounds of the Big Bands.

She married Joseph Stedman Crain, and he preceded her in death on Apr. 21, 2003. Survivors include one son, Jack E. (Barbara) Crain of Birmingham; one daughter, Judy (Dave) Staebler of Chelsea; 3 grandchildren, Adon (Laura) Staebler, Jeff (Robyn) Staebler, and Jenniffer ( Brett) Sidle; 8 great-grandchildren; Britt (Wayne) Hanson, Kali Staebler, Garrett Staebler, Mikayla Staebler, Hudson Sidle, Jack Sidle, Elsa Adamczyk and Andy Adamczyk; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Oliver Hanson and Elsie Kay Hanson.

A private family burial will take place in the future. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice or to the Chelsea District Library. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel.
