Suzanne Louise Cutler - generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother “Grandmere”, sister, friend and legendary hostess left this world on February 27, 2022, at age 81 after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Staten Island, NY to Dominick and Liliane Prato and the eldest of four close-knit children, Suzanne went on to work for the Wall Street law firm of Cahill Gordon where she met her husband Douglas Eugene Cutler (deceased). Later Doug took a position at Ford Motor Company, and they moved their growing family to Dearborn, MI.

In Dearborn, Suzanne raised their four sons, embraced her new community and quickly developed a reputation for her skills in the kitchen. She was a true artist.

Suzanne was also an avid florist and gardener and a senior member of the Dearborn Garden Club. The gardens in her backyard were often praised and they became a yearly stop for the Garden Club tours.

Suzanne and Doug loved to travel – they had a sensational culinary trip to Italy with Suzanne’s siblings Peter (deceased), Georgette and Michael, a lifelong dream for all! Suzanne and Doug eventually moved to Estero, FL and had more years of entertaining. Her family, extended family and friends couldn’t wait to visit Suzanne and Doug and share in her culinary delights.

Suzanne is predeceased by her loving husband Doug, her son Scott (Kathi, step-grandchild Jeffery and his family) and her brother Peter Prato (Donna, children Amy Lockhart and Lindsey and their families).

She leaves behind her sons Doug (Julie, children Sophia, Samantha, Joshua); Craig (Joan, children Grace, Collin, Landen); David (Polly, child Ralli); sister Georgette (Nick, nephew and God child James); brother Michael (JoAnne, nephews Jonathan and Brandon and niece Ashley D’Alessio).

No services are being planned. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.

It's true. An invitation to Suzanne's for dinner & conversation was never turned down by anyone. The warmth, the cuisine, the whole experience was always memorable. Suzanne took in "strays" from any wayward Michiganders visiting FL. She will be SO missed but we're happy to know she's back with her beloved Doug and Scotty.
