of Chelsea, age 61, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in his home. He was born June 10, 1951 in Stockbridge, Michigan, the son of Warren M. & Anna (VanBlaircum) Hoover.

duated from Chelsea High School in 1969. He worked for Dana Corp. for many years. Later he worked for Bookcrafters, and more recently, Polly's in Chelsea. Sam was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Chelsea. He was a member of the Chelsea Rod & Gun Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Kym Parker of Jackson; a son, Eric (Carissa) Hoover of Jackson; 7 grandchildren, Kyle & Skylar, Caleb, Cody, Kaitlyn, Audrey, & Jeremy; two brothers, Bruce Hoover of Sumpter, OR, Daniel (Janet) Hoover of Chelsea; two sisters, Jacqueline (Roy) Wentz of Chelsea, Elizabeth Kalmbach of Chelsea; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 18, 11:00 am at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea with Pastors Stanley Eckermann and John Morris officiating. The family received friends Thursday 3-7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
