Alan Mark Laeder, age 67, passed away March 23, 2026, at his home in Chelsea. He was born December 7, 1958, in Monroe, Michigan, the son of Leroy and Betty (Sachs) Laeder.

Alan was a caregiver and friend to many in the community. He was a practical joker and prankster. He was giving and had a generous heart. Alan worked with children in the special ed program, was a hospital tech, and worked at the post office before retiring.

Alan was raised in the Lutheran church and attended St. John's Lutheran in Midland, where he also attended grade school and was taught by his dad.

Alan is survived by his mother, Betty Laeder of Midland; children, James Laeder of Orlando, Florida, Nikola Laeder of Chelsea, and Rodney Carter of Chelsea; siblings, Janet (David) Thompson of Midland, Robert Laeder of Ann Arbor, Audrey (Timothy) Marcis of Wallace, North Carolina, Kevin (Kelly) Laeder of Show Low, Arizona, Keith Laeder of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Karen (Aundre') Collins of Detroit; 7 grandchildren, Ava, Murphy, Liam, Rio, Quinn, Abby, and Everett; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Donald Laeder.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1 - 3 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 E. Carpenter St., Midland, MI 48640.
