of Chelsea, Michigan, age 88, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was born March 17, 1935, in Hamburg, Michigan, the son of Edwin Bell and Livnia Mae (Brown) Milliken.

Jake attended Ann Arbor High School. He quit to go to work to help his family. Jake was a traditional plasterer, working for contractors, finishing as a field superintendent for Renaissance Interiors. Jake retired in 2000, and went to work for his son, Jerry, until he was 82. He enjoyed hunting and fishing for most of his life. Jake was a good and dependable man who would always help his family and who always followed through.

On August 8, 1953, Jake married Carmen Caroline Pattarozzi, and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Gerald “Jerry” (Mary Beth) Milliken of Chelsea; daughter, Karen (Tom) Dixon of Munith; grandchildren, Gerald K. (Sara) Milliken, Michael T. (Tammy) Milliken, Kelly Jo (Greg) Van Orman, and April Bennett; great-grandchildren, Faith Dixon, Kyli Milliken, Kloi Milliken, Gracie Milliken, Braeden Milliken, Nathan Van Orman, Nicolas Van Orman, and Noah Van Orman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 12 siblings, Robert, Russell, Neil, Eugene, Dale, Bruce, Donald, Helen, Juanita, Dan, Jim, and Marilyn.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 20, 2023, 5:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea, with Pastor Steve Bringardner officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove East Cemetery in Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the Humane Society of Huron Valley.
