Obituaries

Micheal T. Lucas, Age 71, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 13, 2023, at his home. He was born February 20, 1952, in Saint Simons, Georgia, the son of Albert Lawrence Lucas and Nora Irene (Larock) Lucas.

Michael was General Manager of Manchester Machine for 30 years where he was highly sought out for his specialized precision work of commercial machines. He was often referred to as MacGyver by many because of his ability to repair and refurbish equipment better than it was from the factory. Mike had a tremendous sense of humor and always loved a good laugh He was loved by many. At the end, Michael reached out to those most important to him so he could say goodbye.

Mike had many talents and hobbies.  He was a phenomenal wood worker who was into astronomy, enjoyed RC airplanes, drag racing, nature and many more. Michael was a kind soul and a natural mechanical problem solver. He was a mentor and inspiration to so many people.

Mike is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cynthia Ann Clippert. He is also survived by his son, Michael E. (Karen) Lucas of Interlochen; daughter, Jennifer (Charles) Taylor of Constantine; step-son, Daniel (Tiffany Soule) Clippert of Chelsea; sisters, Susan (Kevin) Barker of Georgia, and Kelly (Steve) Gotha of Gregory; grandchildren, Brandon, Emma, Jay, Marrianne, Chelsea, Makayla, Madison, Isabelle, Charles II, Ellianna, Grace, Parker, Christian, Madelyn, and Elizabeth; and great-grandchildren, Koltyn, Lidya, Noah, Macy, and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Kennedy; granddaughter, Ciara.

A Memorial/Celebration of Life Service will be held at Chelsea First United Methodist Church on August 13th with visitation starting at 1pm with service at 2pm.  Memorial Contributions can be made to Chelsea Robotics, https://www.chelsearobotics.org/. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
