Of Chelsea, Michigan, age 56, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on Friday, December 4, 2020 at his home. He was born July 18, 1964 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Shivajirao "Shiva" Govindrao & Marlene (Peters) Desai. Ravi graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1982. He studied Computer Science at U of M-Flint, graduating in 1986, and received his Masters in Mathematics at EMU in 1995. Ravi was a software architect at CareEvolution in Ann Arbor. He was an active and faithful member of the Chelsea Free Methodist Church.
Ravi was a member of several computer groups in Ann Arbor. He enjoyed his Thursday lunch dates with his wife, baking bread from fresh ground grain, reading science fiction, playing Dungeons and Dragons, riding bikes, doing puzzles with his family (the harder the better), and a family book club as well. Ravi was a loving and caring husband and father. He considered his children his greatest accomplishment.
Ravi met his wife, Bonnie Price, on a blind date. On Nov. 5, 1988, they were married, and she survives. Other survivors include three sons, Alexander (Amy) of Brighton, Emerson of Chelsea, Walker of Chelsea; two siblings, Lata (Erik) VonBrockdorff, and Jay (Michelle) Desai; many nieces & nephews; and his beloved in-laws in the Price family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends at Cole Funeral Chapel on Sunday, December 13. Due to Covid restrictions, please call 734-475-1551 to schedule a time to greet the family. In lieu of flowers, a Go Fund Me account has been set up for a college fund for their sons: Click here to make a donation.

Blessings to you all during this difficult time. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

If there was one thing anyone knew about Ravi outside of the home, it was that he loved and cared deeply for his family. He talked about you all the time and it was always with a glow of adoration. I can only imagine what sort of loss this is for you all and I'm sorry.
Ravi was an amazing person in every dimension that I knew him. My love goes out to you Bonnie, Xander, Emerson, Walker, and everyone else who loved him.
My heart hurts for you and your sons. Ravi's love and impact on those fortunate enough to have been in his orbit will live on and on. Sending you all comforting hugs. May you feel the love and find peace.
Love,
Charlotte
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.” Psalms 116:15
“Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Revelation 14:13
You are greatly loved.
My heart aches for you and the boys. May you be surrounded by love and prayers during this difficult time.
