of Chelsea, Michigan, age 102, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born June 29, 1918 in Dexter Township, the daughter of Gustav & Mary (Schneider) Leuneberg. Laura graduated from Dexter High School in 1936, and Cleary College. She worked as a bookkeeper at Harper Electric until her retirement in 1980. Laura was active with the First United Methodist Church in Ann Arbor. During their retirement, Laura and her husband Herb loved to travel in their motorhome. It was very important to both of them to help other people.
 
On Aug. 9, 1941, she married Herbert “Herb” Howard Harper  in Ann Arbor, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2015. Survivors include a son, Richard (Karen Luse) Harper of Portland, Maine; a daughter, Mary (Philip) Borkowski of Ann Arbor; 2 grandchildren, Laura H. (Lauren Mier) Harper, Helen (Brian) Ayotte; 2 great-grandchildren, Evelyn & Florence Ayotte; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by all six of her siblings.
 
Memorial services will be held at a later time.  Burial will be with Herb at Washtenong Memorial Gardens in Ann Arbor.  Memorial contributions may be made to UMRC Foundation, 805 W. Middle St, Chelsea, MI  48118, Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Road, Ann Arbor, MI  48103 or the charity of your choice.   Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
