Of Grass Lake, MI, age 79, died Friday, September 18, 2020 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, after a long illness. He was born November 4, 1940 in Olmsted, Illinois, the son of Melvin F. & Barbara A. (Caswell) Underhile.
Melvin graduated from Marion High School in Illinois, then served in the US Marine Corp for 4 years. He worked for Johnson Control in Manchester for 25 years. Melvin enjoyed bowling, golf and Euchre.
On December 7, 1974, he married Crystl Barbara Menge at her parents’ home in Chelsea, and she survives. Other survivors include his children, Lee (Stacey) Underhile Jr. of Grass Lake, Christopher (Crystal) Underhile of Battle Creek, Jeremy Underhile of Jackson, Samantha (Beau) Tucker of South Lyon, Emily (Chad) Webb of Vandercook Lake; 12 grandchildren, Justin, Kelsey, Shaina, Alexandra, Angelina, Zachery, Haley, Beau, Oliver, Wyatt, Carter, Cason; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bruce, and his sister, Linda.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday, September 21, 5:00 pm at Lee’s home, 919 E. Michigan Ave., Grass Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
