of Granger, IN, formerly of Chelsea, MI. Born August 1, 1962 in Aurora, IL to Bert and Sylvia (Stilson) Harrison (surviving), died February 9, 2020 in Roseland, IN, after a four year battle with ovarian cancer. Beth lived in Richmond, VA and South Bend, IN while growing up. She married Stephen Wayne Mattison on August 15, 1981 in South Bend, IN, and he survives. He was the love of her life. They had two children, Chris and Becca. She spent 6 years homeschooling her kids.
Beth earned an ADN and became an RN in January, 1989. She later earned an Associates Degree in Interior Design in 2011 and a BSN in 2014. She worked as a registered nurse for 18 years, and did medical transcription for 9 years.
Beth was devoted to God and loved serving in her church - the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith. She also served at the Chelsea Church of the Nazarene in MI, and loved her fellow churchgoers. She enjoyed teaching kids, working with VBS, and working in Women’s Ministry.
Beth enjoyed many crafts throughout her life and in her last few years, enjoyed quilting. She and Steve enjoyed traveling and seeing our beautiful country together. They visited all 50 states together during their marriage.
Family was very important to Beth. She is survived by her parents, Bert and Sylvia (Stilson) Harrison, two children, Christopher David (Katie Beth), and Rebecca Michelle (David) Hartung, and grandson Daniel Hartung. Brother Bern (Lisa) Harrison, niece Erin (Matt) Jurgemeyer, and great nieces Adelyn and Penny. Many of her in-laws were very dear to her, including Betsy (Steve) Moore, Deb (Ben) Mattison, and Rebecca (Joe) Martin, who were like sisters to her.
Beth is at rest awaiting the resurrection of the dead at Jesus’ return. Her cremains will be spread at her childhood home that she loved. Visitation was at Mcgann Hay Funeral Home Friday, Feb. 14 th and the funeral was held at Timberland Bible Church on Feb. 15.
A memorial service will be held at the Chelsea Church of the Nazarene, 12126 Jackson Rd, Dexter, MI 48130 on Sunday, Feb. 23, 1:00 pm.
