of Chelsea, Michigan, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.  He was born April 29, 1926, in Milan, Michigan, the son of Lester and Florence (Gruezke) Lentz.

Harvey graduated from Milan High School in 1944, and attended U of M.  He served in the US Army during WWII.  Harvey was a process engineer who worked at GM Hydromatic until his retirement in 1982.  He built several houses and drew plans for a subdivision that he lived in.  He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea.  Harvey was musical, playing the French Horn when he was young, and singing in the choir.   His hobbies included sailing, walking, and woodworking.  Most of all, he enjoyed staying home with his family and being at the cottage on Wamplers Lake.
 
On May 29, 1948, he married Helana Emma Trelenberg at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Boston, and she preceded him in death on November 23, 2015.  Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Charles) Hillebrand of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Paul (Alice) Lentz of Bowie, MD, Dan (Cynde) Lentz of Pinckney;  5 grandchildren, Stephanie (Judson) Farmer, Kristen (Joe) Rahmanzadeh; Lisa (Ty) Bosnjak, Michelle (Thomas) Weikle; Dan (Terra) Lentz; 8 great-grandchildren; brother David Lentz and many nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Dorcas Westrick, Jean May, and Donald Lentz.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 1:00 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea,  with Rev. Daniel Pezzica officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove East Cemetery, Chelsea, Michigan.  The family will receive friends at Cole Funeral Chapel Sunday from 1-5 pm and at the church Monday from noon - 1pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 515 S Main St, Chelsea, MI 48118.
