Age 80, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 in Chelsea, Michigan. He was born January 24, 1939 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Ashley Chauncey & Josephine (Nash) Coy.   Tom graduated from Dexter High School in 1957. He was an MP in the Army from 1962-64. Tom worked at Ann Arbor Implement in the 1960's, and on the Dexter Fire Department. He owned “Coy Landscaping”, and did small engine repair. Tom was a former member of the American Legion. He enjoyed Karaoke at the Wolverine and Inverness Inn. Tom loved NASCAR racing, and camping in the infield.

Survivors include his significant other, Patricia Sober of Chelsea; two sons, Brad Coy and Michael Coy, both of Dexter; a daughter, Katherine (Darrell) Wood of Grass Lake; and their mother, Marie Coy; three grandchildren, Dylan, Shannon, Kristen; his siblings, Richard (Carol) Coy of Stockbridge, Mary Jo (Richard) Ulrich of Ann Arbor, and Charles (Charlotte) Coy of Elk Rapids. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Dawn Coy, and his parents.

A celebration of his life will be held June 23, from 2-6 pm at the Dexter American Legion Hall. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Dexter.
